On Monday, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal proposed the establishment of a dedicated township for entrepreneurs and startups to mirror Silicon Valley's success in the U.S. He also encouraged startups to join official delegation visits abroad for valuable exposure.

"We should aspire to exceed our current achievements and create our own Silicon Valley. While Bengaluru is often regarded as India's Silicon Valley, it's time we consider collaborating with NICDC to develop a new township specifically for entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, and disruptors," he said.

The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) is spearheading the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, a major infrastructure initiative designed to transform new industrial cities into smart cities. This program includes developing 20 townships across various states, including Bihar, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh.

Minister Piyush Goyal addressed startup entrepreneurs at the launch of the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR) Portal in the national capital.

He proposed, "Can we create a dedicated area—be it 100, 200, or 500 acres—where an ecosystem can thrive? This would allow someone with an idea, even from a distant place, to connect and integrate into the community, similar to how people once flocked to Mumbai."

The minister also encouraged young entrepreneurs to explore international opportunities and become global players, emphasising the vast potential available.
